"Take Care of Your Body, It's the Only Place You Have to Live In."

Why do we want to be active or workout? Raise your hand if it's to lose weight. That's the most common reason why people, especially women, want to workout, but have you ever thought about other benefits besides losing those dreaded last pounds? If you haven't it's time to look at the bigger and better picture that comes along with losing those last pounds.

1. Being active reduces the risk of stress, depression, and anxiety. Woman tend to take on more then they can chew with raising children, meeting their girlfriends, tending to their significant others, laundry, cleaning, careers, and a grocery list of other things to do that we forget to relax! An hour is only 4% of your day and that's 4% of "you, you, you" time which can dramatically reduce stress!

2. Pretty much every body part is loving it! Before, after, and even during exercise your heart is getting stronger, your muscles leaner, your brain becomes more alert, your lungs are singing with oxygen, and you're fighting any unwanted flab right out the door! Your body loves when it's physically active for an appropriate amount of time with the accurate intensity.

3. Exercise helps reduce the risk of diseases such as osteoporosis. Exercise keeps your body strong and healthy which reduces the risk of contracting a cold, flu, or high blood pressure. Research even shows that weight bearing activities for women reduce the risk of osteoporosis and aids in the pain for women who already have been diagnosed. Trust me this list goes on and on.

4. You have more energy to get through the day. After exercising your body releases hormones called endorphin's. Those endorphin's are a response hormone that gives you that "runners high" and makes you feel amazing and energetic, so you can tackle anything that comes your way.

5. Exercise can be what you make it. The best thing about exercise is you shouldn't have to stress about it. Going for a run with a few girlfriends, lifting weights by yourself, paddleboarding with your family, or riding your bike around the city should be fun! Use exercise as a fun activity, a release, or a time to center yourself, but please don't make it another stressful component of life.
